We are very excited to introduce our daughter, Libby (soon to be Zoey Grace). We were led to Libby a few weeks ago when several unrelated things happpened that all seemed to lead to this end. If you had asked us a month or so ago if our family was complete, we would have pretty confidently answered, "Yes!" God had other plans for us, and He has made them clear. Years ago, we briefly considered international adoption before realizing there were several requirements we didn't meet and the process seemed totally overwhelming. Over time we really lost interest and then as we've gotten older and less adventuresome, we just didn't feel like it was something we desired to do.
If you have ever experienced God leading you to step out in faith and do something you previously had no desire to do, then you can relate. If not, your day may come.
When we adopted Clay, we really had no idea what we were getting into. Had we known what we know now, we may have been too wimpy. We thank God for keeping from us the reality of Clay's medical needs when we adopted him. Now we can thank God for the doctors, therapists, and medical technology that have made such a difference in Clay's life. We love Clay like crazy! He has been an amazing blessing to our family! We can't imagine life without Clay. He is worth every sacrifice!
When we started to learn about children like Libby, the facts shocked us. Libby lives in a country in Eastern Europe. She has Down Syndrome. The life expectancy for many children like Libby is 8 years. Once we bring her home, her life expectancy will jump 52 years. Children like Libby are rejected by their society. They do not receive proper care, medical treatment, or nourishment. They aren't loved, valued, and nurtured like they deserve to be.
Please pray for our family as we begin this journey to bring Libby home. The process will take approximately 7 months. We hope to have her home around Christmas.
Who are the Super K's?
Thanks for checking out our blog. We are a family who desires to passionately follow Christ and His calling on our lives. We have chosen to live out our faith through adoption. Why? Because He first loved us. We were chosen by God to be adopted into His family. We believe orphan care is commanded by the Bible and God has equipped us to be an adoptive family. Our redemption through the blood of Christ is all about unconditional love and sacrifice. Adoption reflects these themes on a level we can understand. We are blessed to be the hands and feet of Christ though adoption. We are currently in the process of bringing home our fourth adopted child for total of 8 blessings.
